Referring Physicans
Many Physicians Refer Patients Requiring Urogynecologic Expertise and Compassionate Care
At the Female Pelvic Health Center, we:
- Provide specialized urogynecologic consultation to patients referred by physicians
- Handle all referred cases cooperatively with the referring physician.
Upon referral to our Center, patients receive a thorough history and physical examination work-up to determine whether other issues require treatment beyond the primary problem that prompted the referral.
Following treatment and appropriate follow-up care, patients return to their referring physician as soon as possible, but may be subsequently referred again to us for new issues that arise. When requested, we will be glad to conduct diagnostic testing and provide a second opinion to physicians regarding their patients.
We are committed to maintaining ongoing communication with referring physicians and assuring all patients’ continuity of care. To that end, we:
- Promptly share written findings and reports with referring physicians
- Collaborate directly as indicated and requested
Insurance and Payment for Urogynecology Services
We accept most insurance plans, including Medicare, and most insurers provide coverage for the tests and treatments we typically recommend. All patients should contact their insurance plans to confirm their policy’s benefits, coverage and restrictions. Our staff is glad to assist with other questions regarding payment and claims.
